Free Ride from anywhere in Chennai to the Counselling center!

A majority of the +2 students attending the counselling session travel from places outside Chennai. Hence it is better if students avail free cab services provided by taxi aggregator services like Uber. Uber offers one free ride during first time signup and here are the steps to download Uber app and get a free ride from it.

1. Download PayTM App & Register PayTM wallet, Top-Up/Recharge PayTM with minimum Rs 200/- in wallet.(Existing account can be used.) Check PayTM Cash

2. Switch on your location services before sign up. (App will detect you are in India or not).

3. Download Uber mobile app on iOS , Android or Windows . Fill in Name and Phone number , Email and click Next. You should see "Add a Prepaid Wallet" Option in Uber app.

4. Fill basic details and move to next page add PayTM wallet. Add money if you have less than Rs 200/- cash in PayTM.

5. Apply following promo code to get 1 Free Ride worth Rs 250. ubertneahelp

6. Verify in payment menu to see your 1 Free Ride worth Rs 250, if you don't see wait for few minutes and the apply promo code ubertneahelp again.


7. After successful sign up you can use Uber on your mobile devices as well as on Uber mobile site, if you are registering on friends mobile.

FAQ

'I don't see the Paytm option in my Uber App!'

Don't worry! Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign out of your account, disable WIFI and enable 3G/2G on your Android/iOS device.

  2. Clear your device's cache

  3. Ensure that your location is set to India.

  4. When you sign into your account on 3G, you should see the 'Add a Prepaid Wallet' button!

'But wait - I have Uber credits! Why do I need to top up my wallet?'

You need to have a minimum balance of Rs. 200 before you take each ride, to ensure that if you run out of credits, we can bill it to your PayTM wallet. Makes sense? To top up, go to the payment tab in your app, click on your PayTM wallet and hit add money!

Uber PayTM Signup without Mobile App - Desktop SignUp

1. Follow this link, & One Free Ride Promo Code will be applied automatically.

2. In "Mobile Number Section" you just have to select the country (India +91) properly to appear PayTM option.

3. Uber will set you up with PayTM Wallet using the phone number and email you have above. If you have an existing wallet, Uber will connect with it using OTP method.

4. OTP method: Uber/PayTM will you send you an one time password on your mobile/email which must be entered to your Uber app in order to authenticate PayTM in with Uber.

5. You will need to enter promo code ubertneahelp in order to get 1 free ride from your referrer.

Everything else remains Uber - You'll be emailed a receipt at the end of your trip with a detailed fare breakdown and the trip route taken.

Your fare will be automatically debited from your e-wallet. If your ride amount exceeds your wallet balance, you will be prompted to clear your balance before taking your next ride. There's never been an easier, more convenient way to get around!

DO'S & DONT'S DURING COUNSELLING

An extensive checklist/ to-do items to ensure than a student takes part in a smooth TNEA 2015 counselling process.

We hardly get 5 minutes to choose our college. And these 5 minutes will decide our future. So simply follow the steps to choose the best.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. The counselling will be held at the Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai, Chennai - 600025.

  2. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment of the branch/college chosen by the candidate will be made. Candidates have to opt for colleges and branches that are available at the time of counselling.

  3. Candidates have to pay an initial deposit of Rs. 5000/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) by Cash or DD and produce all their original certificates when they attend counselling.

  4. If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the Institution should be produced to that effect. In such case only, attested photocopies of certificates from the Head of the Institution will be accepted for verification. However, the provisional allotment order will be withheld and it will be released only on production of all the original certificates.

  5. Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their cut-off mark, two hours before the counselling session along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of receipt of individual communication.

  6. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he/she can authorise his/her parent on his/her behalf and the parent's decision will be binding on the candidate.

  7. Due to unforeseen reasons, if a candidate could not attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he/she can attend on a subsequent time/date, during the counselling period. But the candidate can only opt for the seats available at that time and cannot claim any seat as per original rank.

  8. If the ranking of a candidate is changed due to re-totalling/revaluation of mark, he/she can attend counselling as per the new mark and rank, though the call letter specifies a different date (as per original mark).

  9. Once allotted a seat, the amount Rs. 5,000/- (Rs. 1,000/- in the case of SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) already paid at the time of counselling will be adjusted in the tuition fee. If a candidate does not join after allotment and seeks refund, only 80 % of the initial deposit amount paid at the time of counselling will be refunded. In such cases original allotment order with acknowledgement for the receipt of payment should be surrendered on or before 31.12.2015. The refund will be processed only through TNEA 2015 refund processing system available online in TNEA website. All admissions made through single window system are provisional. CHOICE ONCE MADE IS FINAL AND CANNOT BE CHANGED

ASSISTANCE:

  1. Be ready to enter the hall one hour before the appointed time.

  2. Outstation candidates are advised to reach well in advance to avoid unnecessary delays like traffic. You can avail 50% concession in bus tickets if you are using government buses. Check here to know more. Chennai being one of the busiest cities, traffic is quite high always.

  3. You could make user of Uber service which gives you free rides from any place in Chennai to the counselling venue and vice versa. You can check more details on how to avail the free Uber cab services here via TNEAhelp.in website.

  4. Make use of the facilities provided at counselling venue.

  5. Approach bank counter to get DD

  6. College wise course wise community wise vacancy position will be displayed. Keep checking it.

  7. You can also check our TNEAhelp mobile app. This will give you details of the finishing cut-off marks based on the previous year details.

  8. Each session will have 400 students attending the counselling.

  9. Register your name and you will be asked to arrange the certificates in particular order.

  10. Then verification takes place. If there is any discrepancy the candidate is turned away. So make sure all the details are correct.

  11. In counselling hall, there will be 60 terminals each with a counsellor to guide the students through the process.

  12. The person with the highest rank gets the first chance. Based on the vacancy position, candidate will be asked to fill his three choices. In most of the cases, he/she will get either of the three. Or else fresh choices will be asked.

  13. Once he/she gets the course and college of his choice, an admission order is made out in his name.

  14. Once the candidate signs the order, admission will be finalised.

DO'S

  1. Choose your college preference and choice of department.

  2. Note down their counselling code

  3. Read the instructions carefully and make sure that you carry all the required documents

DONT'S

  1. Do not confuse between colleges of similar name. For example, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and technology are different.

  2. Many colleges advertise themselves in the venue of counselling. Do not fall for these advertisers. Be sure of your college of choice.

  3. Do not panic. If you did not get your first preference of college/department, choose the next option. Time is very limited.

Now a day's almost all engineering colleges have their faculty profile in their website. Get to know the faculty experience and their field of expertise by which you can rate your college.

  1. Facilities offered

    It is better to know the facilities offered by college for students. It includes seminars, industrial exposure, internet, helping students for internships, symposium etc.

  1. Others

    In addition to above all, we need to check for college participation in other activities. They include clubs like NSS, sports / music clubs and their achievements. In addition, make sure that college is well connected by road/rail.

Bus Fare Concession for Anna University Counselling

Regarding TNEA 2015 (Anna university) bus fare concession and how to claim bus fare concession for Tamilnadu Engineering Admission

TNEA counselling is conducted every year by Anna University for the admission of students to government and private engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu through single window counselling. This counselling being the largest career selection activity in the State, Tamil Nadu government provides 50% bus fare concessions in State government run buses. This concession has been introduced by Director of Technical Education (DOTE), Anna University from the year 2012 to help students traveling from all over the state.

Eligibility to get Bus fare Concession:

  • Students who are attending Anna University counselling from districts other than Chennai are eligible to claim this bus fare concession

  • Per candidate, only two persons (1 student + 1 parent/guardian) will be eligible for the concession

  • This bus fare concession is applicable for both arrival and departure.

Concession details:

  • 50% concession on transport charges in State government run Corporation buses

  • Concession applicable on both up and down travel

How to get the concession:

You can avail concession by submitting a photo copy (Xerox copy) of Anna University TNEA Counselling Call letter to the transport authorities. They will verify the call letter and issue bus ticket at 50% concession for each person. They will affix a seal on the call letter stating that concession has been granted

Please note:

Concession is not applicable for more than one person accompanying the student (Strictly one person allowed per candidate). Bus fare concession is not applicable in private transport. No concession is provided by Anna University for students traveling by trains.
